Beyond our local community service, SALT’s owners are personally involved in broader advocacy efforts. Their daughter lives with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD2A), and as a family, they are deeply committed to advancing research, awareness, and support for those affected by this rare disease. They actively fundraise for Coalition to Cure Calpain 3, a nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure, and they participate annually in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Day on the Hill, advocating directly to members of Congress to increase awareness, drive research funding, and push for policy changes that support the rare disease community.
